Kaylee and Nate:: Columbus Ohio Wedding Photographer

On May 25th I was honored to be able to capture the marriage of Kaylee and Nate. Nate comes from one of my favorite families of all time, the Mariettas. They are my best friend in the whole world's family, and I consider them my family as well.

After a long courtship and a LOOONNNGGG engagement, Kaylee and Nate finally made it official. The day was magical!! The girls were so laid back and fun, and the guys were just a hoot to work with. Although it was a large wedding, it felt very intimate. Kaylee's mom was to thank for all of the amazing details in the decorations....she put a lot of hard work into making the wedding have that country chic look and feel to it!

They celebrated the ceremony and reception at the Barn in the Backwoods in Thornville, Ohio. I had never been there before, but I assure you, I WANT to go back!!! They had so many cool places for photos and an amazing set up for a "barn wedding".

2 Sessions In One:: Columbus, Ohio Newborn Photographer

So as I mentioned with Erin and Dustin's family, I have families opt for a combo-session for newborns. They like to have the comfort of home, and the more posed formal shots as well.

Due to work constraints, Baby Jack's dad wanted to be in photos, but wouldn't be able to if he had to come to the studio. So, we coordinated for me to meet them in their home, and then mom and Baby Jack would come to the studio for the more formal shots. No matter HOW you get your newborn photos done, I am willing to help you capture those first precious days. That is the benefit of a custom portrait photographer, I tailor the sessions to your needs.

Their dog Winston even got involved in the photo shoot. He seemed a little jealous that Jack was getting all the attention;-) So he snuck in for a few of his own portraits.

Baby Jack did an amazing job at his formal newborn session. It seemed as if we would NEVER get there. His poor family had a few mishaps the first week he was born, and then I got sick the next week, and I don't want to be anywhere near a newborn when I am sick. We FINALLY got him in around the 14-15 day range, but he was PERFECT! I can't wait to see him again at his 6 month session!! :-)

A Day In The Life:: Columbus, Ohio Family Photographer

I have been photographing Erin and Dustin's family for over a year now. Each session has been a challenge, because their twin boys are rambunctious, and energetic. Erin always says I shock her with every session because she always leaves thinking "There is NO way she got anything good from that." Yet each time I shock and surprise her with precious images of her boys. We were chatting about her upcoming newborn session. We knew it would be a little more difficult to acquire photos with twin 23 month olds and a newborn....so we came up with a better plan! We would do two separate sessions. The first would consist of the traditional newborn photos with JUST Quin, the new addition to their family. The second session would be in their home, a lifestyle session to capture the three boys together.....HOPEFULLY...lol. 

Quin made me work for my money....of course I wouldn't expect anything less from one of Erin and Dustin's boys:-)

Then a week later, I had a BLAST with the whole family!! I even brought my daughter, Ava, who is 6 months younger than the boys to hang out. They had so much fun together, and I captured some of my favorite real moments to date! :-)

And I EVEN, once again "somehow" succeeded in getting the two most important shots: one of the whole family, and one of the 3 boys together!!
