Maternity Timeline:: Columbus, Ohio Newborn Photographer

I had been planning this project for a while, but I had to wait for the right subject to do it. Someone who was willing to take the initial photo EARLY in the first trimester, and continue to come to me through out the pregnancy. Karissa was a friend of my cousin, and had been following my page for a while. She was soooo excited to tell me she was pregnant, and I was thrilled, because that meant she was the PERFECT person to help me with my new idea. She came to me at around 4-5 weeks pregnant, 10 weeks pregnant, and then there was a long gap.....

Not because anything was wrong...but because her belly just wasn't growing! She just looked like she ate too many cheeseburgers until 6 months along. The 3rd picture is 6 months, and then 1 week before she delivered (even then she wasn't big).

But we were thrilled baby Jack made it safe and sound, and we finished off the maternity time line at his newborn session.

Very Special Family:: Columbus, Ohio Newborn Photographer

When I started out photography, I started out because I needed a creative outlet because of Rosalynn's death. As I progressed, I relized I wanted to give back. I wanted to use the gift that God had bestowed upon me to give back to a community that had helped me through the roughtest parts of my life, the baby loss community.

I am sure many of you have heard of Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, if not, you should really check them out, and suppport/donate, because they are an amazing orginization. Unfortunately, I don't think I am emotionally strong enough to join that group of photographers yet. I feel it is still too early in my grief to relive those moments every time I walk into a hospital room of another family who just experiences the worst pain any human can...the loss of their child.

So, I decided to do my own twist on things. A way for me to still give back. I offer very special shoots such as this one.

Jill, the mother, contacted me. She had recieved my information from a friend who was a part of a support group. I LOVE hearing how my name is being spread! She wanted a VERY special shoot. She had already had Luke's newborn photos done, but she wanted something that only a Baby Loss Parent would understand....a full family photo...including their first born son, Colin.....grab a tissue:-)

Recent Maternity Photos

I showed a few of my latest newborn pictures yesterday. However, I have also been doing a lot more than that!! Here is a sample of my most recent maternity shoots:

There is something soooo beautiful about a woman who is carrying a child. capturing those sweet moments between the expectant parents, and the love that is in the mother's eyes as she looks down at her belly, knowing that her child is growing big and strong in there is what makes me LOVE these particular sessions.

Once again, please feel free to check out more or my maternity photos on my official website, Irish Eyes Photography.
